WHAT is it?
Cardboard Box City is a homeless awareness event focused on educating our community on the realities of child homelessness here in Cape May County. Family Promise serves these homeless families. This event also helps raise funds for our program so we can continue to help families in this type of crisis.
Cardboard Box City is an OUTDOOR event. It is an afternoon, evening and overnight "camp out style" event, where participants bring and design a CARDBOARD BOX to sleep in overnight, braving the elements. We have contests for the best box created, the most money raised and best slogan created. Dinner will consist of a soup line, there will be music and an outdoor movie will be provided.
WHO can participate?
Anyone! This event is fun for everyone. Cardboard Box City is a rewarding, exciting and fun opportunity. People become aware of the homeless population that
surrounds them and the many ways that all of us can serve our neighbors in need. You participating for this event helps make this growth happen. We encourage families, clubs, youth groups, boy scouts, girl scouts, middle and high school students, collage students, sport teams, community organizations, and businesses.
